Know Your Own Church, Religion, and Beliefs – for real.

lifestyle choice Know Your Own Church, Religion, and Beliefs for real.

I may have a different idea about things like churches and religion than most, I imagine.

It came to me this morning that I probably never laid these out.

A “church” by definition is a group. Mostly of people with a common belief-system, usually religious or spiritual at least. It’s really nothing to do with any building. It should be helping you find Freedom, Happiness, and Peace of Mind. And if you aren’t getting these, you’ve got a right to look elsewhere. Not just the promise of them, but the actual life-qualities themselves.

Now the problem with religions in general is that mostly they’ve forgotten where they came from and are more pomp and circumstance than the original salvation they were intended to be.  Most have gone straight off the road into getting into peoples’ actual way when they are trying to find their own road out. Because they are part and parcel of keeping them in the dark – because they get more money, or support, or power, or what-have-you.

Of course, I’m saying “most” so you have an out with your own church. But if it fits you, then wear it.

My idea on these is a bit loose. You’re here for some reason you set out for yourself. And if you really want to achieve it, you will. But if you just want to mess around and take forever, then you’ll do that, too. Because you can only get what you want, not what someone else wants. That’s the way this place is set up. No one else can “make” you do anything. If you’re a victim, it’s your own damned fault.

The trick is wising up. That’s the whole reason I wrote all the “Go Thunk Yourself” series, re-published their referenced works, and also my latest, “Get Your Self Scam Free.” Because you deserve it.

Now, I’ve been having a hole in my line-up as regards Huna. But I just found that a couple of Max Freedom Long’s classics had fallen into the public domain. And interestingly, they actually tie a lot of what Napoleon Hill, Charles Haanel, and Thomas Troward were talking about. And also earlier authors such as Emile Coue. ( Of course if you like Long, you’ll also like Claude Bristol’s “Magic of Believing.”) So you’ve got a fair bit of study to do if you’re going down this line.

But my idea is that churches are support groups. It doesn’t particularly matter which one you belong to, as long as they don’t make you swallow that silly notion that they are the one and only way of redemption/salvation/enlightenment. That’s where they went off the cliff a long time ago. And became a spiritual dead-end.

But check out this stuff from Long about religions (while I’m busy editing this book into shape). I figure that there used to be a great deal of “magic” available to the early churches – only theymay have called them “miracles”. Levenson and Alan Watts cover this a great deal – both that this is something that gets easier as you get more spiritual and less worldly, and also that it’s nothing to pay attention to particularly as it can quickly become some sort of occult sideshow.

Here’s Max Freedom Long:

All we can take with us at the time of death is knowledge, and it should be the first duty of each of us to accumulate the correct “take-withable” knowledge by a careful study of the psycho-religions and the discarding of beliefs which cannot be substantiated.

It should be held in mind that no two inspired or revealed religions agree, and that teachings obtained from the departed through mediums show a similar disagreement. There may be one correct revealed religion and one correct teaching from a spirit or a spirit group, or there may be a partial truth in all such sources of information.

At present we have before us only one basic and practical criterion by which to measure such material, and that is Huna. I say this, because Huna work[s].

(from THE SECRET SCIENCE BEHIND MIRACLES)

The “Secret,” or body of information handed down from one magician to another, was what may be called applied psychology for the most part. The element of religion was very small, especially if we accept the technical definitions of religion in the best modern sense.

Dr. Paul Tillich, Professor of Philosophical Theology at Union Theological Seminary writes, “Magic is a special kind of interrelation between finite powers; religion is the human relation to the infinite power and value.… Magic is the exercise of imminent power, religion is the subjection to the transcendent power.”

All religions are mixed with magic. Prayer is magic. Everything we do to gain benefits for ourselves in this life or the next is a part of magic. Magic is getting something from supernormal sources. Religion is worship of a Supreme Being and an acceptance of whatever It gives us, whether pleasant or unpleasant.

Both are part of a soon-to-be-released book at Go Thunk Yourself Self Help Bookstore…

Last words on self-help

sedona method Last words on self help

After over half a century on this planet, I’ve come back to the point of realizing that you can only chase your tail so long. Ultimately, you see the senselessness of it. (Now if we could just get that across to our government cronies, both elected and appointed…)

That snark aside, there are a few basics I’ve settled on as basic to everything else.

You may have noticed that I’ve been working over Alan Watts’ lectures and books recently. Right after I’d been working over Levenson’s, Dwoskin’s, and Crane’s material on the Sedona releasing techniques. And that was all after boiling down Dale Carnegie, Napoleon Hill, Wallace Wattles, Charles Haanel, Earl Nightingale, plus Serge Kahili King (and now, back to Max Freedom Long – soon to be released as a newly re-published edition on http://gothunkyourself.com).

As I’ve privately admitted, I have little else to say in this area. It’s all over, done, kaput, finished.

But was I actually done with the subject of self-help after all this time I spent in Scientology, Christianity, and all of the above? Yes and No. What remains is application. It’s easy to know about Zen, and some like Watts found it a life’s purpose in studying everything they could in order to lecture and write endlessly about it. But there is a wide gulf of application that remains. Putting all this stuff to use.

It’s not enough to know and write. It’s also necessary to do. Walk your talk and all that.

Now, I am going to tell you right now that I don’t believe in all this stuff I’ve been writing. And, as I cover in my upcoming “Freedom Is – (period)” – your own mileage may vary. Your own path “up and out” of the morass you put yourself in will require different digging and climbing tools than the person climbing next to you.

For me, I have essentially two points:

1. The world around you is as you create it: “You become what you think about.” “The world is what you think it is.” This simply means that the world is your dream to make into reality. And this key point actually creates the rest. If you are here in this space, reading this, you are an individual. Quite different from whether you forward the concepts of the Tao and Levenson, who both hold that you are part of a greater Being and this world is more the sliver stuck in a thumb than actually surrounding you and affecting you.

Of course, this takes some practice to get used to. But you can start with realizing that there isn’t really anything but the “Now” and both past and future are constantly shifting depending on your current creative thoughts. At the extreme end of this, all the physical laws around you only work to the exact degree that you believe in them and hold that faith. Which of course explain all the miracles and magic which we occasionally confront.

2. Empirically, the Golden Rule works and applies to everyone. Again, the Huna, “We are all connected.” So that what you do for or against someone else is what you do for and against your self. Being critical of someone is a useless action. So your own progress, toward whatever goal you might have, is dependent on helping others achieve whatever goals they themselves would seek.

Of course, that means you have to allow others to have the right to think their own thoughts. And create their own lives. Or even destroy them. Doesn’t mean you can’t try to help them live it better – but about 3% are going to work hard at doing themselves in regardless, just the way this place is set up (empirically, anyway.) The “poor will always be with us” – because that is their choice. No amount of Welfare or education or charity will cure it.

I also consider that the rest of the basic 7 Huna principles hold true, as they are workable – to me at least. As long as I believe in them, they’ll keep working and explaining stuff I come across. But you can take them or leave them – your choice.

There are various corollaries which follow – that all the Freedom, Happiness, and Peace you could possibly want are already available. That the only limits you experience are your own. “All Power comes from within.”

So I don’t see that there is a great deal of writing still needed in this area. I have a couple more books to get out (Long’s work, “Freedom Is – “, and finishing up “Get Your Self Scam Free”). After that, I have lots of cartooning to draw and cross-reference in my blogging. Making fun of all the seriousness around us would seem to be a valuable commodity to have. As far as commodities are valuable at all…

But your life is your own. And what you consider how you can live life best is also only up to you. Like me.

I’ve found a deep and lasting peace. Now we can really start to have some fun.

Like Forrest Gump, “…and that’s all I have to say about that.”

How to get everything you really want out of life – easier than you thought…

sedona method How to get everything you really want out of life easier than you thought...The trick is that everything you really want is already present…

Of course, this has gone through several incarnations, and may still change. But I think I’ve finally gotten down to a basic line of application and theory which has undercut everything I’ve studied up to this point.

And I reserve the right to revise this without notice.

One of my first attempts at this came from a book I compiled, called “Mystic Marketing” – which does work where applied. Essentially, it has you hone your ability to concentrate on what you want and deliver this to the Universe to manifest. (And it still may very well be the handbook which will take that title above.)

But Lester Levenson tended to pitch the whole subject of “getting stuff” into a cocked hat with his tapes and books. However, if you’re familiar with “The Secret”, you’ll recognize that many teachers recognize the first statement above is true. And to get anything else to show up around you, there just has to be a change in your considerations.

Of course, Levenson’s Sedona Method releasing technique is the prime way to accomplish changing your thoughts and calming the mind. Just acknowledge and accept what’s there and let it go. Follow that by reviewing what it is that you want and release on both having to have it and not having it. As well as being separate from it, or having to be one with it.

Sure, that’s all a mouthful. You could also just simply have it show up by just releasing all the time. Whatever “it” is.

But all the classics, Wallace Wattles, Charles Haanel, Napoleon Hill – even the real classic authors such as Genevieve Behrend and her mentor Thomas Troward. All of these simply point out that whatever you really want is already there – the Universe is in a constant state of delivering exactly what you’ve asked for.

In fact, they all also say or support the fact that this Universe is only thought – and that all the mechanics we go through simply justify the thought. All the “scientific” studies are just ways to rationalize the miracles-as-usual which surround us. And all this scientific explanation machinery is foundering on quantum physics – where they found out that what you think predisposes the outcome of the experiment…

Our modern approach to this is to recognize that we perhaps haven’t asked for exactly what we want, but have asked for something else. “The Secret” has several teachers saying to rephrase anything with a negative in it – which has been known to NLP practitionars, but is actually an ancient datum: the mind doesn’t recognize a negative. So when you say you don’t want something in your life, it shows up in spades. Don’t = do not = do. Don’t want = do want.

Of course, our thoughts are often jumbled, because of the bad mental habits we’ve been keeping. And the Sedona Method allows us to release ourselves from the effects of these perpetual thought circles which have been keeping us suppressed.

And so the mind quiets. Then you can figure out what you really want out of life – and it begins to show up.

Until then, it’s much like walking around the living room with the lights turned off. You know roughly where the furniture is, but not exactly – and your shins take a beating until you finally find the light switch.

Now, the ability to concentrate on what you want isn’t actually something taught in our government schools. And to a great extent, we train ourselves out of this by watching TV and popular movies. We tend to deaden our mind, to turn control of it over to others. Which is why advertising found on these are so inane and stupid. Psychologists Maslow and Cialdini worked this over quite well that our motivations are what we’ve been trained by our culture to accept.

This just brings my continuing advice to the fore – that you have to turn off the TV, radio, and put aside the national newspapers in order to start improving your life. (The Internet is OK, providing you use it in strict moderation.) All of the above just keep your mind excited and reinforce the bad mental habits you’ve been carrying around with you all this time.

You are going to have to release these mental habits before you can make any real progress in getting what you really want.

OK, so have I beat this horse quite to death now?

Look – check out the Sedona Method (I have a review page above full of links for this) and see if this might not just help you with whatever it is that you are trying so desperately to attain, attract, achieve, or simply have show up in your life.

Then come back here and comment on what you’ve found. OK?

All about the Robert Worstell scam… exposed!

general interest All about the Robert Worstell scam... exposed!

Is Robert Worstell a scam?

Sure I am.

Fully 97% of what I say here is useless to you. And I can admit this with complete certainty that it is true.

Because it’s based on the scientific certainty of all those graduate and post-graduate studies cover on human behavior, commonly described as a “Bell Curve.”

Their descriptive mathematical profundity says that out of all the stuff you study, you reject around 97% of all that you read or listen to or experience – because it doesn’t meet your own belief-system, your own world-view.

You are only going to use about 3% of anything I bring up here.

Of course that’s true for every single thing you study, every single website. So I’m really a scammer now – I’m saying that everyone else out there is running a scam also.

Well — they are, you know. Down deep, you do know.

The other thing that makes me a scam is that I only deal in Metaphysics and all that la-de-dah stuff which you have to believe first in order to make it happen. I’ve even got degrees in this stuff – no, they aren’t from any Ivy-covered, Alumni-sponsored, Good Old Boy Academia. But I paid my dues to study all this stuff, wrote my papers and theses and so on. I can quote all this Metaphysical stuff by the yard.

Of course, there’s no “real science” to it. Sure, it’s been proved that a lot of this actually heals people, actually will help people achieve their goals, actually makes people feel better one-for-one — provided that they actually have faith in the books and writers and material that I present here.

But the super-science boys are all against this type of stuff. But they’ve reached a dead-end. It actually happened years ago – when they went beyond the smallest possible particle they could study. None of all the various “laws” and “rules” they had established for how the Universe operates – none of that seemed to work dependably at quantum levels.

Turns out they found the scientific equivalent of God down there. And several of them returned to ancient spiritual texts to actually start making sense out of it all.

And that heady stuff is where I started – and what you’ll find here.

So all that I cover is simply and easily attacked as a scam.

Welcome to being scammed – and feeling good about it.

I offer a complete line of all those “get anything and everything you want in life” books over at Lulu.com, where you’ll find all the authors like Wallace Wattles, Charles Haanel, Earl Nightingale, Napoleon Hill, Dale Carnegie, – tons of all those “feel good” authors who made a living from inspirational and motivational books.

All scammers and quacks. Well, at least if you listen to the hard-boiled skeptics.

But you can live a better life – and the people who buy these books know that. They aren’t deterred because people around them are skeptical, critical, and generally negative. And they can generate faith at the drop of a hat.

The reason came up because I ran across a professional skeptic – who trusts things so little he won’t even use his real name online. And when I pointed out that being critical all the time would wind up with very few true friends (well, only those who didn’t mind being criticized right, left, and center.) He thought I “doth protest too much”. And my considered opinion was that he “doth skepticize too much.”

Different strokes for different folks.

So, join me in my scams. We can have some fun and maybe find personal freedom and happiness beyond anything anyone of his science boys has dug up.

Good Hunting!

How to make the world more perfect than it already is…

sedona method How to make the world more perfect than it already is...

I was listening to Lester Levenson again  yesterday and, as usual, found myself with my mouth dropped open at times. Just incredible concepts which make complete logical and emotional sense.

One of the more difficult ideas to get your wits around is that it’s already a perfect world. And so all the actions you should be taking are just to make it more perfect.

I was talking with a friend last night who is tied into some of these conspiracy people – who have a complete point on their own. What they’ve discovered about how people are planning to make a complete mess of things can be terribly disheartening. But since we both students of Sedona Method, we saw that this was more a reason to release on all of that.

And it’s probably why I follow politics at all and just tell people that most of the messes around them are due to government scam than anything else. As well, I say that people should simply own themselves.

Because it’s not a question of do you mind how the world around you is set up – but it’s how you are grateful for what you already have and how you plan to improve what is already there.

This, of course, follows along the line of “The Secret” DVD, Wallace Wattles “Science of Getting Rich”, Charles Haanel’s “Master Key System”, Christian Larson’s “Ideal Made Real” and many others. You figure out what you want to achieve, acquire, create – and then simply turn it over to the Universe to have show up, and meanwhile exhibit your gratefulness for all that is already there. And this is usually recommended that you visualize several times each day, as Napoleon Hill recommended, among others.

Now, sure, the purists can point out that you can actually get this all much easier by simply releasing. And as well that this is the route to real freedom – release constantly, and use releasing to get anything you want.

But let’s keep this practical to start with. We want to work with what we have and get better at that.

So your first steps are – as much as “The Secret” teachers seem to be a bit “tetched” on this subject – to figure out what around you in your own world you are grateful for. And then go around and find more things to be grateful for. Sure, most of us will say that the world isn’t a perfect place – yet. But the first attitude is: “but it’s getting there – and I’m doing my part to make it so.”

Earl Nightingale used to talk about the “calm, cheerful, expectant attitude” a person should have to get through life (get a copy of his “Strangest Secret” recording to hear him explain it.) Christian Larson wrote the Optimists’ Creed and said in his best selling “Ideal Made Real” that you should spend some time perfecting your inner world, as that getting your own internal ideal would be the only way to make that ideal show up on the outside.

Larson, as well as Haanel and Levenson and even Napoleon Hill, all recommended that you take some time daily to sit in quietude by yourself. Get a place where you aren’t interrupted. And just consider the perfect world around you as already being there.

Jack Canfield gave these steps in “The Secret”:

“Decide what you want, believe you can have it, believe you deserve it, and believe it’s possible for you.

“And then close your eyes every day for several minutes, visualize having what you already want, and feel the feelings of already having it.

“Come out of that and focus on what you’re grateful for already. And really be, enjoy it.

Then go into your day and release it to the Universe, and trust that the Universe will figure out how to manifest.”

Because, you now see that the world is already perfect around you. All your actions are just to make it more so.

And nothing now has a chance against that bright light you are letting shine from within.

How Sedona Method and Quantum Jumping are turned into scams

sedona method How Sedona Method and Quantum Jumping are turned into scamsMost of this, as in any scam, is in what you expect out of them.

Are either Quantum Jumping or Sedona Method scams? NO.

But why do people think they are?!?

The biggest problem people have is falling for the “Get Rich Quick” (GRQ) sales pitches.

Which in turn is only a problem as people don’t know what they really want out of life.

But there is an simple way to scam proof yourself if you just know how anything can be made into a scam.

Many people simply fall into that addiction which our culture has as a whole, which is simply acquiring things, stuff, people, junk. Money is one of these. It doesn’t actually exist in the natural universe – it’s only a humankind thing that we created and continue to create.

The other point we have in common – another addiction – is instantaneous gratification. Our Internet has started to fill this with “virtual products” – simply ebooks and other documents which are transferred from one computer to another just as some sheets of code. Nothing actually transfers, other than some little pieces of electrical pulses.

But with these, we can get almost all knowledge, any data we could want.

With that Get Rich Quick addiction, the only problem you have is that you have a desire which can’t be satisfied. So you take it out on anything that isn’t instant.

Now both Quantum Jumping and Sedona Method can be applied to acquiring wealth. And where these are attempted to satisfy those desires they fail. In fact, everything applied to that desire fails. Nothing will ever satisfy a desire, because there is no limit to the amount of wealth one can accumulate, and it can never get there fast enough.

And if you want wealth by Quantum Jumping, here’s Burt Goldman’s three videos where he tells you exactly how to go about it. Again – this is because people want it, the people on his lines asking for ways to get more money in their lives.

But look at these within these ideas you’ve just covered above:

Video 1

Video 2

Video 3

- – - -

In “The Secret”, James Ray points this out – where he says that the Universe can be compared to a genie which will give you whatever you want. But when you say, “This doesn’t work…” then you are given exactly what you want – failure.

The underlying scene, which both Quantum Jumping and especially Sedona Method tell about – is that you generate your own happiness. All the happiness you want is already within you. It isn’t externally produced by finding and acquiring more money or “stuff” around you.

But when you try to get all this stuff – what happens? You are never truly happy.

Why?

You are looking outside for something that you can only find inside. The only happiness and joy you can actually get is already inside you. Already inside you.

The old phrase, “Money can’t buy love or happiness” is and always been true. Money is just a symbol which represents the value you have given to others. Listen to the old Earl Nightingale tapes, or read Wallace Wattles’ “Science of Getting Rich”, or Charles Haanel’s “Master Key System”. Even Napoleon Hill’s “Law of Success.”

All of them point back to this basic law we all follow, whether we say we do or not – the Golden Rule in its various versions all say this:

You have to give before you can get.

So simply buying someone’s set of CD’s and listening to them won’t make you rich. You’ll get a refund if you ship them back, but that’s all.

Because any scam you have is and always has been within yourself.

All those ideas and thinking that is flying around you – all those negative feelings, critical thoughts, anxieties, stresses – all those are held on by you just to keep you from being happy and experiencing the native joy that’s been within you the entire time.

But don’t use the Sedona Method or Quantum Jumping to find them. Use these to allow yourself to let them out.

Only then can you scam-proof yourself in life.

[update - 12/15/09]

Bottom Line for Burt Goldman Scam researchers:

Check out Larry Crane’s release technique. His material has been scientifically tested and has been around over 50 years.

What next after you get all the wealth, happiness, health, and general success you want?

personal development What next after you get all the wealth, happiness, health, and general success you want?

Boy, that was a mouthful. Good thing I don’t have my titles that long all the time – Twitter would ban my updates for sure (or people would think I never finish anything…)

OK, the reason I got inspired to write this was exactly what was in my in-box – another endorsement (read: affliliate link) for someone I hadn’t heard of before and how many glowing testimonials with some incredible, don’t-pass-now offer reduced for a limited time

Like I’d never seen these before.

Actually, I don’t know if it’s just me, but I’ve been opting out of way more mailing lists than I join now days. Usually right after the first worthless offer.

Because these guys are in the same ego trap as their customers – and you can tell in the way they are writing.

You have to ask yourself – what’s all this money for? Sure, having good health is a near necessity – but are you trying to be perfectly healthy all the time, or would minor aches and pains every now and then (like sore from playing a long game of tennis, or being tired after tromping around in the woods all day keeping up with grand children – would those be acceptable?)

Charles Haanel held that money was only a symbol, and that chasing a symbol would cause it all to disappear. Money only stands for what you did to get it. Earl Nightingale said at least once that money only says how much value you’ve been giving others.

Figure that people who only are telling people how to get all the money they want, all the success they can stand – these people are caught up in the same trap.

They’re all symbol-chasing. Why? So the people around you will think better of you?

When you don’t have to take any medicine, and all your bills are paid for months at a time, then what?

And when you get along with the people you like and the other ones mostly leave you alone, then what relationships are you still needing to improve?

The question you want to ask yourself is: “What happens when I get there?”
